Shortly after the Deepwater Horizon exploded, burned and sank to the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf Oil Spill Remediation Conference (GOSRC) was born. This International Citizens’ Initiative has brought together many of the world’s best and brightest in the realm of oil spill control, mitigation, remediation and prevention.
As an ongoing cyber-conference, the GOSRC has produced numerous and extraordinary solutions to the current untamed gusher, as well as to the massive amount of spilt oil. We have selected a few of these and listed them in limited detail under the Solutions tab. As you review any of these presentations, please feel free to submit any suggestions or recommendations, especially those that would enhance their technical integrity. Â We invite all input/feedback to the following email: Â OilSpillSolution@comcast.net
The GOSRC (soon to be NGO) belongs to the People of the Gulf Coast, as well as to the People of the World. Â This unprecedented and extraordinarily consequential disaster will ultimately affect the Seven Seas, as the Gulf of Mexico Loop Current delivers the hydrocarbon effluent into the Gulf Stream. Â This powerful conveyor belt will further distribute the dispersant-laden petroleum brew throughout the Atlantic. Â Due to the myriad and unpredictable vectors of dissemination of this oil, methane and dispersants, the BP Gulf Oil Spill will eventually find its way into every ocean on the planet. Â Hence, we are also a global environmental health advocacy group.
Toward this end, we do not seek to just clean up the resulting petrochemical cesspool, we aim to to accomplish this task in the safest and healthiest way possible. Â Unlike the unfortunate first responders of 911, we endeavor to keep all of our employees, contractors and volunteers out of harm’s way. Â Through close collaboration with all involved governmental agencies, NGO’s and private companies, we will also develop new standard operating procedures across the board of oil spill response. Â Ours is a bold attempt to forever change the status quo throughout the industry.
We warmly welcome your ideas, proposals and advice. Â Please keep them brief, with the best contact information included, should we seek immediate consultation.
